will an old school Bosch & Lomb scope hold up on a .50cal?

I bought myself an Armalite .50cal. a guy at work has an old and in mint condition Bosch & Lomb 10x Tactical scope. old school fixed power, I have been trying to find out if the scope would hold up on the .50. I'm basically just wantIng the B&L scope as a crutch till I get my Night Force. just plink around with the .50 for now. then maybe put the B&L on my other rifle. I haven't really found a directed answer if it can hold up, its said that they were able to take a beating and were solid scopes back in their day.

I hear the .50 is a big hard push , not like some rifles that have a quick rap of a kick.

If you do not want to hurt the B&L or take a chance of hurting it ..go to wal-mart and get a centerpoint 4-16x40
I have punished my 2 and they hold zero, and have been for 4 years now.

Even after falling 10 feet from a tree attached to my 30-06 with the scope mounts that come with the scope for 69 bucks
the zero did not change.
Those BB gun scopes are built stout.
My 30-06 has broke 2 bushnells and one mossberg scope.

walmart will take it back if you do not like it.
read this on the centerpoint scopes..read to the bottom.

.50s are brutal on scopes. The scope takes recoil from both direction because of the brake.

I will second the centerpoints. Some will knock them do to price, but we have one on our .338 Lapua until we decide on some good glass and it still holds its zero.

B&L should hold just fine - Barrett 50cals get shipped with the same re-badge 10x scope (Bushnell assimilated B&L).

They are still under lifetime warranty as well through Bushnell.
