Have one next to our couch and recliner for an end table. Sanded it down to get some of the dirt and grime off it and then stained it with a nice light stain. And, yes that is an OK buck. My first one I took about 15 years ago. I have a customer that is a large commercial electrical contractor that will give me them for his deposit fee of $25 per spool no matter the size.

Nice looking table and clock. dolang1 I sent you a PM. I think my wife found the idea from Pintrest, she's always finding stuff for me to do on there.

The only problem with using these as patio tables is you can't scoot a chair close to one.

I had to cut about 8" off of one side of the spool to accommodate chairs,,,
It affected the "tippy-ness" of the table a bit but not too badly.

Other than that they are quite nice.

This would be for the front porch, so the chairs would be beside it facing the street. I have seen where they trimmed the bottom ring to make it smaller. Still looks good, but I can see where it would be kinda wobbly.
