I am interested in buying gold and silver. I am not interested in paying for coin value. The gold can be in bullion form or jewelry, etc.

I‘d stay away from scrap silver and gold jewelry unless you’ve brought and sold it before.

If you want the cheapest silver, that’s sterling silver. While you might get that for paper silver there’s never been demand for it or 40% coinage as it takes up a lot of space, the purity will be tested on the sale as who knows the real metal content. Expect silver having to go up at least 15% before you break even.

Gold jewelry, same. Your 10k could be 8k.

Stick to government issued coins. You find those coins with that premium with high demand will make your money back faster than items above.
