I found this all rusted up at a garage sale, the sheath is not original to the knife. If I read the marklings correctly, it was made in 1942. Now my research capabilities and computer skills are somewhere below the suck line so please chime in.

Sorry, its not marked but i believe so. The other marked on the hilt says England.
Fairbairn-Sykes was my first thought, too.
lot of fakes out there of this FS knife, some from the 1960's,and even today ,plenty on e bay,, will need a expert to verify this one,as its shows some age.the cheap fakes used to be great to have around to punch holes in oil cans.

3rd casting mold on the pommel, I with the crow’s foot and England on the guard is a good sign. Is it brass or alloy? I see the small triangle on the blade which would indicate it was hand ground.
That is my guess as well. There were some copies made too but I think that is the real thing.
