One of the girls that works with my wife had her home burglarized last week. She was not home. Single mother, 2 kids, lives in Midwest City. Valuables were taken, jewlery, TV, DVD etc. My question has to do with something the burglar or burglars left behind. This burglar left a nasty surprise on a washcloth in the bathroom (in the interest of keeping this clean, lets just say he enjoyed himself). Is this common behavior? Does this woman have more to worry about than theft?

She is having an alarm installed this week.

a solid alarm is a good policy just make sure its from a reputable servicer. I am not going to go into the whole get a gun thing....

as far as the behavior part. I have come to understand that the only common behavior trait is that it is inconsistent. I would reassure her to do her best to secure her home and prepare for unexpected events in any circumstance.
just my .02 cents.

Hopefully, seemed kinda stupid to me to leave undeniable evidence that you were in a home that was being burglarized, but then again, I'm not a criminal.

It's amazing just how dumb most of them are. Based on the stories I've heard, sometimes I wonder if a cot, 3 squares a day and free medical is all they are after in the long run.

I would need to know more information...the act your speaking about is actually common...the criminal has lived out a sexual fantasy of control over another by breaking into the most sacred of sacred a person's home...this is going to sound strange but I would not worry unless underwear was stolen from the house and I'll leave it at that.
