Are Ruger 10/22's hard to get?

I'm seeing then sell for around $350 used which I thinks crazy. I want one for me and one for the wife and I wanted used because I thought it would be cheaper then new but I was wrong apparently .

They are around ada. I finally found a new one at a pawn shop. Local WW has not had a 10/22 for a couple months now.

Seems like the 10/22's sold by individuals are $100 to $200 more than at the store as new. And the pre owned ones are not tricked out any--if they are, they are even higher. I think people are paying the extra to keep off the paperwork forms --any gun rolls so to speak. Some do not believe the background checks will not become a gun registration. Obama said he wanted the background checks sent to a national data base. That would become a gun registration. I think that is why pre owned guns are so much more than at the stores. AND they are semi automatics which is most of the gun dialogue in the last few weeks.

Also, I did not notice any Ruger 10/22 at the gun show last week, which I thought was odd. They must be going fast these days. Some like to buy a 10/22 and then change it into an assault looking weapon.
