I personally prefer the usual fat guy eateries...Luigi's, Pizza Hut, Rib Crib, Billy Simms and occasionally Burgess.
The food is good and fairly inexpensive. Most importantly, they can accommodate our growing numbers.
That's my 2¢. I am however just an OSA enthusiast.

Billy Simms is questionable. I go for the company.

I can't imagine getting in and out of that place and back to work in anything under an hour given the 10-15 minute drive I'd have each way. You lads of leisure, though....

I'm game. Friday will be a light day for me. I'll show up wherever you guys decide. But for the record, I'm not a fan of lone star.

Just a thought. How about that Greek place on d ave we tried. I liked it.

Bottom Line Up Front: My Lonestar suggestion was based on it being right next to another place we go to frequently and my personal good experiences there in the last two years. But if its bad for other FGSTers (too far away or too long for limited lunch time) - I have no problem postponing or dropping it.

If it is still up for consideration...

Here's a link to the Lawton restaurant's menu - so you can make an informed choice.
https://www.lonestarsteakhouse.com/uploaded/dinnermenu/54044_GEN.PDF

Note the lunch specials and burgers - many choices under $10.00 and the basic Lonestar cheeseburger and fries for $8.50 which isn't a whole lot more than Burgess Grill. Lonestar also has long tables in the back of the restaurant that accommodate larger parties - no private rooms however. I will check tomorrow to see if we can reserve a table for 10-15 and if they are "Gunbuster - a deal breaker to my mind.

I am not trying to upset anyone's apple cart but I think at least a little flexibility on lunch every now and then isn't asking too much on my part - and even at that it was a suggestion NOT a demand. I won't be broken-hearted if the group wants to eat elsewhere and if we go and it stinks, then we wouldn't return. I also completely understand if we have to adjust due to distance/time limits for some folks - I have no desire to cut anyone out.

BTW - Tumbleweed, I'd be just as happy with the Greek place but I caught flak for that one too so I am not sure if that would be viewed as an improvement.

Personally, I detest Billy Simms (the restaurant not the FGST member!) because I think we pay a lot for mediocre food but I go for the company and fellowship.

I'd rather just say Luigi's or Burgess is it - period dot - and always meet there as "the" true FGST place but, if we are going to vary, trying a "new" place every two to three months doesn't appear to be too far off the ranch to me.

So...what's the deal? Lonestar, Greek place, Luigi's or some other place? I'd like to hear from any/all Lawton FGST voices and I will support the group choice.

I agree with you 100% about Billy Simms BBQ.
I suggested Chinese food once but it was quickly dismissed.
It doesn't really matter to me where we go. I go to these more for the company than the food anyway.

I don't even eat lunch Mon-Thur. So, I don't care where it is on Friday.
I hold these lunches on high and look forward to them every week. I'm not in it for the food.
Sorry guys, didn't mean to stir up any tensions.

Ain't no tension here - this is fun BSing among us Fat Guys. You have every right to speak your mind buddy and nothing for which to apologize.

Out of deference for MightyMouse who sounds like he won't be able to make a Lonestar lunch and get back in time, how about Burgess Grill?

Its close to him and quick.

Sorry my internet has been down the last few days. Looks like some good conversation; communication is the key to success.

I am not fussy where the luncheons are held. Raised as an Army brat I have learned eat whatever is placed in front of me. Horse and dog meat is a little hard to process for my system and snake has too many bones, other than that I am happy.

Friday is about the only day I get out of the house. I spend most of my time in my shop. Timing usually is not a problem for me.

My only condition is I will not go to any place that is "gun free." These areas are unsafe in my opinion so I will not enter them.
