Dear Sir, I would like to acknowledge your sloppy, substandard shot into the radiator of my drilling rig. The defenseless entity that is my drilling rig suffered substantial damage from your apparent .22LRr rimfire weapon and it has resulted in an economic loss.

After several hours waiting for the local Sheriff to investigate the crime, I was able to disassemble the radiator assembly, pull the damaged fins out of the coolant radiator, and crimp the damaged tubes closed with some pliers to enable my equipment to leave your Godforsaken part of Oklahoma for greener pastures.

If at some point, you would like to try your firearm prowess with a slightly less inanimate object than a drilling rig, please PM me. I would be glad to bring my skill set to you and address your apparent frustration with life.

If you are pissed at the pipeline, shoot up their stuff, not mine.

I know this rant is not directed at OSA. The perpretrators definately did not bring enough gun!

BTW, in response to our call, the local deputy arrived to investigate the shooting. Upon identifying myself, I informed him I had a CCL and that I was not in possession of a weapon. He said "why not?" I had to inform him about pipelines, Canadians, and Hoplophobia.

Was you working on the Keystone pipeline? if so, prolly done by a protestor or pissed off land owner. We've had problems with the pipeline construction in the area.

Bennington was in the news recently, somebody named Tyson Parker was shot around midnight on a breakin.

Well when you're in SE Oklahoma make sure you go on the buddy system.

Idiots are everywhere. This sounds like just an idle "I'm a risk it" shot from somebody who may not have enough forks in his/her family tree. A message would at least have involved more gun and more shots.

You can't kill all the skunks. I wouldn't infer any personal or political agenda unless it becomes a pattern. Sucks, and is a little scary. Chill out and give thanks you aren't the shooter. Their life probably isn't anything like as good as yours.

Good luck.

When I was working for few different farmers durring highschool and college one of them told me if I leave equipment in the field overnight to park with the radiator facing away from the road. Said windows are cheaper than radiators(or oil coolers or ac condensers or hydraulic coolers). I guess he had one ruined on a big Stieger tractor once by a a mess of .22 holes.

Something to think about.

"park with the radiator facing away from the road."

Excellent advice, except what is on the back end of the truck costs a whole lot more than what's on the front of the truck!

Thanks guys, I've really been fortunate, this is the first time anyone has really messed with my stuff.

I'd suggest some steel plates getting cut and fitted. Fab some standoff brackets or somehting to hang'm on. Lot cheaper than parts. When we used to park tractors, etc we always put something in front of'm. People are stupid....but they are also vengeful now that there's a more drilling starting to creep into the more rural, wooded areas where people have been left alone for a longgg time. Talk to some of the weyerhaeuser folks down there. They've had plenty of stuff tore up.

Just because you're on one person's property doesn't mean that someone else hasn't "claimed" it for a long time. (Not making excuses for them tearing up your stuff)

I've spent a bit of time down near there. (Nashoba, etc) Bring a friend...LOL

And could just be some kid shootin at a tree rat...LOL
