I wish i never clicked on this thread. For the last 3 days all ive been doing is looking for a 1895sbl jm. It give me butterflies in the stomach everytime i see a picture.

Love me some double 45-70 . After looking at pressures & what they are rated for & whats available with out mortgaging the farm i will just let it slide.

What pressure ratings did you find????? I've been shooting level 2(marlin loads) out it some, mostly trapdoor loads though.

Searched Baikal 45-70 pressure . Says gun is rated 2200 bar which is 32000 psi . Trap door loads are 28000 psi which is ok for Baikal . Next step up is Marlin 1895, encore, ruger 1,browning 1885, 35000 psi = +p . As in Hornady or buffalo bore ammo.
