I fail to see how I am any more dangerous carrying a knife of any kind than I am when legally carrying a firearm, openly or concealed pursuant to my SDA permit. Hopefully the legislature addresses this soon and also enacts preemptive language that would clear up conflicts with local ordinances.

A little off topic, but what exactly the concealed weapons laws cover varies hugely from state to state. For example, the OK carry license ONLY covers handguns, so is technically a "handgun carry license" that is irrelevant to knives and other weapons. On the other hand, my birth state of Kentucky issues a "concealed weapons license" that allows you to carry anything up to a civil war sword and M2 machine gun if you can manage to conceal it under your trench coat.

These archaic knife laws are from the knee-jerk reaction to old leather jacket wild one movies. Back then there was a greaser behind every garbage can waiting to stick you with one of those damned wop knives.

Military on duty and police and fire are exempt, that explains the "regular people" portion of the post.
