Got the Liberty Chaotic (.300 Blackout) suppressor to the range for the first time this morning. Zeroed my 8" barrel pistol at 25 yards with Remington Supersonic (nickel size cloverleaf groups), then installed the suppressor and fired Remington Subsonic. Groups were still about the same, POI dropped between 1/4" and 1/2". And it was quiet - I'd definitely put it in the "hearing safe" category from behind the gun - even tried it with no ear protection and would say subjectively that it's pretty close to suppressed .22LR - but still need to see what it's like from the side.

Also got the AMT out for the first time - it by comparison was loud and obnoxious but shot reasonably accurately and repeatably, brass landing pretty consistently in a two foot diameter circle around 4 o'clock, inch size groups at 15 yards from rest using Remington ball ammo. One hang that I'm pretty sure was my fault from letting the slide touch the rest which kept it from going back into battery, pulled back just a smidge and released and it went ahead and chambered. Not sure what the trigger pull is, but it's almost spooky light to me.

Oh, and to stay on topic - stopped and had an enjoyable lunch at McKenzie's; it's definitely improved with the new staff. There's also a long table at the back that might accommodate our august group on some occasion, though I'm not sure how busy they are (or how fast service might be) noonish.

Sounds like fun.

Hey FGs, I was at the range today and convinced myself that I need some serious tutoring on rifle zeroing, etc. from an experienced, knowledgeable rifle shooter. However, I am willing to settle for one of you guys!

Seriously though, anyone want to take on the task of schooling me on the proper, systematic way to zero then sighting in my rifles? Most of my experience has been with handguns or in CQB and I proved to myself that knowing the one set does not translate into facility with the other set set of skills.

PM me if interested and willing to pass on your wisdom to me.

Steve - got your PM and replied. I've been head's down so far this week, hence the slow reply.

L-FGST - will there be a Patriotic, All-American, God Bless the USA kind of FGST lunch on Friday the 3rd?
How many folks available?
