So my problem plagued frankenrifle AR15 may be fixed. Took it to a buddy who is more up to snuff on the platform than I and found quite a few problems.
1) the fire control group was basically garbage. Would not reset after shooting and the machine work was terrible. Had a 9# pull but still wouldnt reset.
2) BCG needed heavy deburring and some surfacing...like it wouldnt unlock as it should and it was very hard to work the charging handle. It was pretty craptastic (and new mind you) but seems to be straightened out
3) gas block misaligned and gas port undersized.

Will test it out tomorrow but it sure feels better and I have faith in it. If so...it paid off to pick up some problem parts from others and get the issues worked out.

Not sure what BCG you got, but I got an AR Stoner bolt that ended up being out of spec and wouldn't lock in the barrel.

DPMS makes an awesome lower parts kit if you need a lower parts kit. Most mil spec triggers are awful. Everyone has their preference on triggers, I use either a drop in unit like Timney, or I'll work over the factory trigger, chop the hammer and use JP springs.

BCG was an Anderson. I assume the LPK was too but it was as purchased from a local shop.

I also forgot one of the detents and detent sorings were also too small (spring really short and detent pin too small diameter)

It really was a cluster frock

Generally speaking Anderson LPK's have consistent quality in relation to MilSpec, they don't seem to finish them as well as they once did. Lately I've been waiting for the Aero Blem lowers with an LPK before buying, they show up regularly, you get a lower which a Blem (altho it's difficult to locate the blemish) and a new high quality LPK for around $112.

Well I will say my buddy keeps parts that he swaps out and what not and the fire control group from this went straight to the trash.

and that's where it should have gone, i meant i've never seen an Anderson LPK like that, but i have changed over to using PSA or Aero kits now, mostly because of the lack of not finishing the Anderson parts, i.e. polishing the residue from the black finish from the pins etc

A well built franken gun will work as good as anything off the shelf. Most problems can be fixed. I am not much on the Anderson lpks. I have never used their bcg. I hope it is all fixed and works great for you.

One of mine is an Aero stripped upper and lower that was built up with PSA LPK &BCG and a nice barrel and runs great. Just bad luck on this one I guess. I have a total of $375 into this frankenrifle in 300AAC do i cant complain if it took a little work.
