Naval aviator, Yale grad, successful business man, Congressman, Ambassador, Cabinet Member, V.P., and President. Through it all, by all accounts, he was a devoted and loyal husband and a good father/grandfather.
He wasn't a perfect President, but he likely lived a bigger life and did more good in the world than any grump who is going to pipe up and disparage him after he's gone.

I have great respect for him, as President, and as a human. Sure, there were political decisions I didn't agree with, but he had no duty to check with me first. With all the issues a President has to deal with, I'd say he did a pretty good job!
When I saw that he had passed, I thought of all the history that goes with him. Some people forget he lead the CIA in 1974 and rebuilt the agency. The secretes he took to the grave are vast.

Which is one of the things that baffles me about people; I often hear Putin disparaged for being in the KGB, but we had a President who was the head of the CIA, and we don't have a problem with that. Just an aside. Carry on.

Regardless of politics, the man must have done something right in his life. He leaves behind a legacy that will be in the history books forever, his children are testament to the family he and Barbera created and raised. Rest in Peace Mr. President, you will be remembered by many as a War Hero, by many as a baseball player, by many as a member of the Skull & Crossbone Society, by many as the father of #43, by many as the man who kicked out Iraq from Kuwait, by many as the Director of the CIA and so on. Only a few will remember you as anything other than a dedicated life long servant of the American people.
