For Christmas, my wife is wanting to replace the crappy framed art we have above our fireplace mantel. She is wanting a nice larger piece of contemporary Indian artwork for a gift. There is a guy called Thunder Voice Eagle but he seems to have nothing in stock, print wise, and has had more focus on making hats lately.

Can you give any recommendations on any Local or Oklahoma artists that have sites I can look on or at least their names I can research. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I have a few Kelly Haney paintings and a sculpture.

Google Kelly Haney or Enoch Kelly Haney.

I haven't talked to Kelly in quite a few years and I'm not sure if he still paints. The last purchase was the sculpture and he kind of stopped painting and ramped up sculpting....back in the mid to late 90's if I remember correctly.

Anyways his shop was in Seminole.

Look up(Google) if I remember correctly...was it Gorman? A.C. Gorman?? Santa Fe painter..sure he's deceased by now but in the 80's and 90's his paintings were hot.

I remember his work characterised by his subjects large hands.

Call or visit the Cowboy Hall of Fame. We went there a couple months ago and they had ...was it...The Grand Prix or Spirit of the SW exhibits...lots for sale and quite a few sold.

If you want: call. Richardson's Pawn or Gallup Pawn on Coal Street in Gallup, New Mexico.

Richardson's has been there for over 80-90 years and is owned and run by his daughter...Mrs. Keeler.

She should be able to recommend and artist. Her husband ..Bill Keeler...has Gallup Pawn and he could give you some suggestions as he use to be knowledgeable through Santa Fe, Taos, and Sedona.

Just my 2 cents worth...good luck.
