Way to go... thieves gotta love it these days. Petty theft is ignored by the authorities.

Suckage. Authorities won't do anything about it, and doing anything yourself will damn sure get you prosecuted. What a freaking society we have...

Don’t forget thieves that it’s $750 of MSRP! So, even if it’s on sale and the MSRP is over $750, you could still get charged. Just want those thieves to be smart and careful.
Also thieves, Texas has a sunset rule. You can defend PROPERTY from theft after dark if there is reason to believe that once you’ve been dispossessed that recovery may be impossible. Once it gets dark out in Texas the rules of the game of life change.

“Criminalizing poverty is counter-productive for our community’s health and safety,” states a letter released by Creuzot. “For that reason, this office will not prosecute theft of personal items less than $750 unless the evidence shows that the alleged theft was for economic gain.”

What the hell does that even mean? Personal items? Economic gain? WTF?
I guess if I'm mugged and the criminal steals my phone because he really needs it to connect with his bros, that's not economic gain maybe?:drunk5:

I can agree that low income people can get trapped in the system, can't make bail, which costs them their job, then they lose their house, etc.
But just letting them get away with it isn't the answer for Pete's sake!
