You sicken me. I’m on the work till I’m dead plan. Congrats though. I hope you enjoy every bit of it. My dad retired from Dayton Tire in 2006 when the plant closed. I think he was happier when he worked. lol.

I'll save the congrats until you actually retire. Wife and I retired in 2014. In our case, the idea of being busier with retirement is/was all wrong. First of all, we live in an RV and someone else does the honey-does unless it is with the RV.
But, I may have to add that the closer you get to retirement, the more anxious you'll be and will be less able to tolerate all those "newbies" at work.

Retired 5 years ago on April Fools day at 62. Went into HR, told them I was retiring today and walked out. I heard them laughing when I walked out. They realized I was serious when I started clearing out the desk and carrying boxes down to the parking lot.
Life has been busier since retiring than before. Everyone knows you have time on your hands and my farmer/rancher buddies don't have an issue about asking for some of that time.
Sure, I could say no, but I enjoy it. We are spending about 5-6 months a year traveling in the RV which is a pretty lazy lifestyle, but totally enjoyable. Can't think of a time that I've enjoyed more than our time we spend in the RV. We got lucky and fell into a group of road buddies, some of which live in their RV full time. We all meet up at the different locations if possible, and have our travels scheduled out for a year from now. All Gun owners, all Trumpers, most fishermen/women so we spend our days in the outdoors at the local ranges or on some fine trout streams/rivers. Happy hour starts at 5:00
Everyone brings a dish of something to eat/snack on, and the discussion of the day commences. Some from Tx, some from Chicago, and so on. It's a great lifestyle!
