Went to smaller burgers as well.

"Shrinkflation" has been going on for years now.

Ya they need to bring back the 1/3 pounder. I remember when they dropped it for the 1/4 pound, at the time when the .gov mandated calories be posted on the menu board.

****ing government, screw up a good burger.

I believe since we can't rely on the integrity/honesty of most manufacturers/packagers of food products, that a law needs to be passed, with a strict penalty if violated, that if the stated quantity on the package isn't the total amount of the main product, that a second statement of the actual quantity of the main contents must be listed as well - or at least what the percentage of the main labeled product is. I, for one, don't like paying for water or oil that is nearly half of the stated net weight or volume.

Such afore mentioned labels would reveal the truer inflation for when containers or volume of the contents shrink.

Umm --- Ah --- Er --- Shouldn't the FDA have something to say about this?

There was a chain tried to compete / gain advantage by advertising their 1/4 # burger was becoming a 1/3 # burger.

Their sales went down. Interviewing some customers, they are told people were mad that the size had gone down from 4 to 3.

You cant fix stupid.

We advertised our burgers as 3/8# and people talked about our huge burgers.

I was going to buy my family five of your 3/8# burgers one Saturday, but found a place selling much larger 5/16# burgers for just two dollars more each. I decided to get the much larger burgers for just a little more money! 🍔💵

I believe boxes of stuffing mix are smaller than they used to be and with less flavor (spices) too.
I wait until after the holidays and buy a bunch on sale.
They are great for making a quick and easy meatloaf but now the content of the box is puny and you need to add some extra spices, it seems to me.

^^^ That reminds me. I bought a box of Hamburger Helper. It didn't have much taste level or amount at all, and what taste it did have was not good. Think bland and an off taste. It also did not cook well to a good consitency. Even the dog would not eat it! I agree, I think the quality of ingredients has been cut.

I guess they have to deplete their inventory of larger-than-necessary boxes before they can order/make rightsized boxes. Someone there in the Kellogg's marketing department didn't coordinate the boxes to be sized down along with the product ............... and it was likely so on purpose ................. :rubhands:

I guess they think we are all dumb. I noticed this trend back in June of 2019 in the thread I started titled; Underhanded Price Increase.

Isn’t that covered by the sticker that show price per oz? Most stores have them, not exactly hard to calculate it at the ones that don’t have it.
