I know you said you didn't want striker fired, but the M&P 45 is reliable, accurate, and has the ergo's of the 1911. It's a double stack 10 round mag in an almost normal 1911 grip size. You could do worse...

The entire grip and trigger guard are all polymer. Conventional 1911s/2011s have a metal frame underneath the grips. That’s close enough to a polymer frame as I see it.

Problem with that statement is that the frame rails and dust cover are metal.

You might want to do some research on the history on the 2011s :)
