While you're correct about the meaning of the spelling of 'rein' vs. 'reign', you might also check on your reading comprehension considering that when I used the phrase "free reign" in my comment, it was used as a quote with the phrase having been taken from the postings of another OSA member.
It may or may not be acceptable to correct another persons' spelling, but it certainly is NOT acceptable to attribute that misspelling to the wrong person.

My late father’s Ithaca M51 Featherlight 20 gauge. He had complained it would not chamber reliably. Over the years, I had read some scary stories about broken parts causing feed issues that have not been made in 35+ years, so it languished in it’s case. I got the courage up to pull it apart recently, and found a very dirty action, with no broken anything! I gave her a thorough scrubbing, and a new action spring and buffers. It will cycle now as fast as you can work the trigger!
Well, the waiting process starts again. Just found a M&P9c with Factory Crimson Trace grips for 300. Couldn't say no to that. Now I just have to begin the waiting process till it gets to BANG.
You quoted somebody without the correction, or even the acknowledgment it was incorrect (SIC). Silence is consent. You may not even be aware that the usage was incorrect, I don't know.
