I have a question for you guys that live in OKC and Tulsa.
When I go there, I see all of these manicured ponds around some of the businesses. Mowed to the edge, with no trees or bushes. Are any of them stocked? I'm thinking they are retention ponds to help control runoff but when I lived in Ks in the 70's, the state stocked them up there.

They would be a great place to practice casting with the fly rod, and if there are any fish in there, it would be a big +. Anybody do that?

You can bet that if it's going to cost the state of Oklahoma money they aren't going to do it, such as stocking ponds...Or fixing roads...

I can't believe I didn't see that as I scour their website. My in-laws live in Broken Arrow, and next time we go over I'll take my fly rod, and play around. I don't care if its a carp, its just fun catching them.

i was wondering if someone could tell me some of the in and outs about fishing the lower ill. river i have never trout fished in my life was wanting to give it a try i will be using ultra light equipment that i use for crappie so any pointers will help and be appreciated thanks kenny

If I use spinning gear I use berkeley power balls or Gulp. I use cone shaped slide sinkers, what bass fishermen use, and a split shot below the slide sinker. The power balls float and current dictates sinker size and distance from split shot to my hook. The hook is on the end. Thats how I do it. Some people will just put split shot on and a hook. I ususally use 2 power ball or 3. Some people like powerbait and make there own dough balls. Daves, in Gore, ususally has power balls and power bait. Bass pro also sells it too. Good luck.
