So are their prices any better than Bass Pro? Just curious if anyone knows, since several have been to other stores of theirs.

I don’t remember the prices being that exciting. The volume of selection was the attraction to me. Look at selection of rifle scopes I posted. More $3-4K scopes than I’ve ever seen outside of @druryj ‘s truck. Nighforce, Schmidt & Bender, Steiner.

They had a fair selection of Dillon products, I was surprised to see a Magnetospeed V3 and a LabRadar on the shelf.
They had plenty of lower and mid end equipment also

I have a feeling those that are only stopping in for price alone will be very disappointed.

Keep in mind when I saw it last June, supply and demand was opposite of what it is now. They don’t have a magic wand to fill the shelves of things no one else is having any success in obtaining.

I remember people were excited about Gander Mountain opening in Tulsa. I stopped in the one down in TX - somewhere like Sherman/Denison area? I dunno, anyways I spent about 20 minutes wandering around looking at stuff and everything I saw seemed pretty overpriced to me... I left without buying so much as a stick of gum. Then the one in Tulsa didn't last 6 months did it? Man some developer lost their ass on that deal...

I looked at the website. www.scheels.com and figured they run about the same as Academy here. G19, Gen 4 for $499.00, Fed American Eagle 124 gr 9mm for $12.99 per box of 50, Ruger MK IV Target Model .22 for $299.00, CZ Shadow II 9mm for $1,199.99 ...

I got to shoot a few rounds from a Shadow II a few months ago and loved it! But if I went down there and handled it, I'd want to buy it and then I'd have to ship it back home here to my FFL.

EDIT: Just searched grabagun.com and they sell the same Shadow II for $1,168.99. So I could have it shipped to SSP and come out at about equal to the price alone at Scheels. Never mind Mr. Scheel.

There are a few Shadow 2s around Tulsa. I don't care for the grey model. A couple places have the black/blue for $1199 I offered a guy $1250 cash knowing I can get one cheaper online. He said no I put my money in the safe when I got home. They are sweet guns.

I had a buddy that was in a Sheels in KC last year sent me some photos said the amount of guns they had was insane. All prices I have seen on their website even on Dillon stuff seems like they are a fair price. Vs BPS and Graff and Sons that normally charge you 10% more.

Living in Nebraska for the last 18 years I have one in my backyard of Omaha. I will say their on hand gun stock usually blows bass pro and Cabelas away. PLUS long guns are NOT behind a counter you just walk up and fondle away. Lol

Oh and the salesman make commission there so they are constantly “harassing” you. Which is better than Cabelas where often it takes 15 minutes to even find someone.

Camping world has combined their camping stores with Gander. No longer uses the Mountain in their name. Coming home from Tx we broke a part on our RV hitch and had to find a Camping world to replace it as they were the only place open on Sunday. We drove to the one in New Braunfels just north of San Antonio and spotted Gander store in the same building. Go left for RV stuff and go right for the sporting goods. We were in a rush and didn't get to browse the Gander store. Fixed out hitch in the parking lot and got back on the road.

I've been to the Scheels in Salt Lake City and in Great Falls, MT. The SLC also has a ferris wheel in it which is pretty cool. Their inventory is heavy on firearms and like you see in the original wood display cases that is how they display all their handguns as have "islands" of rifles and they are broken up my manufacture. It's really a pretty sweet setup the way they display their firearms. I remember prices to be average but like others said. They have everything and a lot of it.
