That is correct I will shoot 1 piece of .308 Lapua brass until it fails.
I have taken measurements and after 20x fired and neck sized the case has grown .0075" in length
The first 10 shots from it had it grown .005" so 1/2 of a thousandths per firing .

The OD of the case has remained the same ,, bullet seating and primer seating has not changed from the 1x fired .

Primer pocket still great in other words.
So far I only have shot and neck sized this piece 20x.

Bolt got a little stiff to lock down on the 5th resize.
But on the 20th it feels the same .. so I feel it has reached a point and has stayed there.

I changed the title ..instead of how many licks will it take.

I would think so.
Takes forever to do the stinkin test.
Would be nice on a warm day to get a couple people out to do the test and shoot groups and see what the results are.
Use different brass etc

I AM IN!!!
Just have to load some 155's I think my .308 will like it. I have to shoot my Hornady 155 first.

And if you have some extra 155's let me know haha.

swamp, a couple of questions...what are you using to measure to 5 ten thousandths and are your measurements taken from the case head to the case mouth?

yes case head to the case mouth.
I know measuring to the .0005 seems like you can't possibly do so but I invite you or anyone to use my dial calipers.
Not digital and you can see the .0005 when you are between the lines.
I have checked them against a micrometer and they are on.

I have used other dial calipers and some are just plain sloppy or rough moving and I would not trust them to the .001"
These are over 20 years old and have never failed me.

I wish I had some 155's and some 4166

I will keep using varget in my 308 more than likely .. but I want to try a bulkier powder in my .243.

Can't blame a guy for liking Varget

I shoot military bolt action matches at OKCGC every month, I have LC 68 match ott6 brass that has been loaded/necksized
50+ times, they were trimmed once during case prep haven't been trimmed again.
OAL grew .004-.005 after the first or second sizing.
