These are just some of the things I've been burned on. Look in the glove box for maintenance records. Check the thing everywhere for rust from underneath. Rocker panels and quarter panels especially. Check the bushings, motor mounts and cab mounts. Check the functionality of every switch, dial, cluster lights, etc. Look at the fuse boxes and see if there are any missing or any discoloration or burn marks. Look for wear on bolts you would have to take off for repair/maintenance. Look for missing bolts. Check the battery to see if it has been replaced. Have someone drive behind you and in front of you while you are driving the truck to see if it tracks correctly. Check the steering to see it it pulls. Check for vibrations you cannot account for in the truck not caused by the road. Check for squeaks and rattles. Check the A/C fan for squealing / operation. Check to see if it is the original engine, transmission. Find a mechanic with a lift and have them check the truck with you. Carfax only works when the incidents are reported.
