I had a fun time at Atwoods this morning. I decided to pick up one of the Ruger EC9s deals as a Christmas gift for my brother. Walked right up to the counter, and said I want one of those. Then the circus started. They have you do the 4473 on a tablet that supposedly links to their computer. That part went well until first the clerk tried to complete their part. He needed a manager because he didn't quite remember haw to do certain parts of it. The first manager was a bit more educated on the system, but still needed to call another manager and the three of them worked on it until the actual gun counter manager returned from break. He completed the process and then one of the first managers had to carry it to the service desk for checkout. I stood in line behind a number of customers, with the service desk clerk needing to call for a manager several times until it was finally my turn. Quickly paid my tab, and the clerk then needs to call for another manager to walk it out of the store. We got to the door and I turned to take it from him, but oh no, they are required to walk it to my car. This guy seemed like a nice guy, and I mentioned it to him that it had taken me over an hour. His response was that "you can blame it on the ATF. They require all this". He told me all sellers of guns have to do it that way now. I just kept my comments to my self, and decided that my brother had better get me something really good for Christmas!

Hrm, ok. Feel bad for their employees, though it sounds like they might get a small minute break from the madness by just walking to your car.
