Yeah I remember some of that Chinese ammo being under powered years ago.
I can still find $6.97/20 American Eagle at Walmart - it comes in about once a month and you have to be fast to get some but it does come in.
Just doing a little comparison and figuring (my local + state) taxes versus shipping costs it looks like I would start breaking even at around 7 boxes/140 rounds. You mileage may vary due to different shipping costs, etc.

CTD usually charges outrageous shipping even though their prices are usually par for the course. The outrageous shipping ruins most of their deals.
