Shot a few loads yesterday in my .308 with the New 168 TMK Tipped Match Kings.

Yes it was windy. The 3 best loads all used the same powder amount.
42gr and lit by 210m primers and seated to 2.900" In Lapua cases.
8208XBR = 1.978" 3 shot
Varget = 1.3" 3 shot
RL15 = 1.3" 3 shot.

The Varget shot higher by 1.6", left and right was the same for all loads.

Savage 10fp bolt gun that I hacksawed the barrel shorter and hand crowned it with Brownell 11degree tool.

I think I found a good hunting load or 2

Yes I have and they were awesome at 100 yards but did not hold the pattern well past that. Very destructive on deer. Only needed 1 shot and all fell over right there and never moved.
I decided to go lighter in bullet weight so I did not remove both front shoulders in 1 shot..Love the 178 for killing though. Accuracy for me was not as good as the lighter Amaxes .
I even tried the 180gamekings.. those were my first to try.
I probably shot 200 of the 178A max trying to find a load that was accurate past 100 and out to 300,, Gun just did not respond to those.
I even tried in my 30-06,, it did better with them ..Both guns are 1:10 twist. the flat base 150's are my best accuracy bullet in the 30-06 along with the 155A max

My 1:10 24" barrel loves the 178's. I tried the 155's and 168's, but had better results at all ranges with the 178's. Hornady brass, CCI primer and 44 grains of Varget loaded to mag length.
