Curious what others load for their .44 magnums.

Right now I load 18.5 gr of 2400 with 240gr. JSP.

I shoot a S&W 629 6.5 in barrel and a 1892 Puma Rossi.

What do you shoot in 44 Mag?

I use a RCBS 44-250KT hardcast bullet.
I use 7-10 gr of Unique or Universal, whichever I have on hand for a plinking load.
I use 18-20gr of 2400 for a little more umphh.
I have a Ruger Redhawk for my launch pad.

The sabot is for a .50cal muzzleloader, I use the same bullet for different applications.

Mild loads I use a Lyman 250 gr swc over 7 to 8 gr. of unique in my SW mountain gun. In my redhawk I use a 280 gr round flat by Lyman (discontinued) over 22 gr of aa#9.All with a standard primer.

I haven't tried shooting them at 100yds. My accuracy demands are not very high. If I can hit a 2ltr pop bottle at 50yds off hand that's good enough for me. Both loads, 8.5gr of unique or 20gr of 2400 will do that. I'm working on my double action trigger pull, but for now I shoot single action most of the time.

I was at the loading bench one day getting ready for muzzleloading season. I had some Hornady sabot's with a XTP bullet. I measured the XTP and weighed it, it was the same as the 44 mag pistol bullet. I got to thinking and experimenting and the Keith design works in the front stuffer too. I've only shot it at 50yds too but it will thump a 2ltr bottle with authority.
I cast my own and change my alloy around some. I mix WW/pure lead 50/50, it's accurate but I haven't had a chance to take a deer with it yet.
