Last time I checked, there were 11 commercially available 9mm cartridges, but by far the most common is the 9mm Luger (or Parabellum), which is what practically everybody means when the say "9mm" without any additional qualifiers.

By the way, the so-called "9mm Makarov" is actually NOT a true 9mm; it uses an oddball 9.3mm bullet.

9mm, 9x19, 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum (or 9mm Para), and 9mm NATO are all synonymous. There are other calibers with 9mm diameters (9x17, .380ACP, 9mm Makarov, 9x21--even .38Spl/.357Mag) that are not interchangeable, but the five designations in that first sentence are all describing the same cartridge.
