if i were going to do it, i would use .308 due to ammo prices. as far as the rating, i don't know, but phil had a sweet setup and it was ridiculously quiet :) i liked hearing the ding after the shot with no earmuffs! it got as smile from steve when shooting, and one from me while watching...... i guess i should have asked to shoot it....maybe next time ?

This is my setup that was demo'ed at the NFA shoot a little over a week ago.
It's a NEF 30-06 Handi-Rifle #SB2S06 22" heavy barrel w/ AAC 762SD. Just a cheap, fun gun.
I like shooting it both suppressed and non-suppressed just to feel the "night & day" difference the can makes. It's amazing.

Here is a thread on SilencerTalk that talks about what calibers the 762sd can handle.

My 18T 762SD is almost 2 years old and i'm very happy with it.
It performs great on my 12.5" 6.8spc upper and 11.5" 5.56 upper as well.
