Nichols, who lives in Tuscaloosa, caught the behemoth from Holt Reservoir on March 9, 2012. He used a chicken gizzard on a large circle hook and managed to land the beast using 40-pound fishing line.

Did you guys watch the last River Monsters last Sunday night about the catfish in Missouri? My uncles ran a bait shop in the town of Warsaw, MO, and we had guys come in routines with cats the size of the record in Alabama (at least every month or so during the summer). Also, the salvage diver whom Jeremy Wade was interviewing said he had personally seen 300 lb catfish (blue catfish and flatheads) when he was diving, so they're definitely out there and aggressive.

It's a big fish, but that truck was already small. 120 lbs beatsthe heck out of my state's(MS) 93 lb record.
