I have several parts I can donate, New Aero upper, New Diamond Back 16” Mid length barrel, New MLOK hand guard, new gas tube, and a muzzle device. All we would need is a .750 Low Pro gas block, BCG, and CH. EDIT @RickN you should really consider an AR as an option. Your friends here would step up an help put together a quality rifle, you could then keep the Ruger or sell it and invest in ammo, mags, etc. (or eventually a nice Mini 14) I used to absolutely loathe the AR platform and had no interest in ever owning one. That is until BHO, startted spouting that I shouldn’t be allowed to. That got me to buy my first, and guess what, I LOVED IT. Now I have spent the last several years collecting, building, shooting and helping newbies get into the hobby as well. To me it is the PERFECT home defense weapon. Don’t get me wrong, I love wood and metal guns, especially the Mini 14, however I would not pick it as my HD weapon. Not because it is not a capable weapon, it is. But is is also heavy and cumbersome to manipulate in a residential setting. (IMHO) Either way best of luck in finding the right weapon and setup for you.
