I may not agree with everything he said, or inferred, but it is one of the better written opinion pieces I have read. No histrionics, no lies, just well thought out opinion of the author.

Funny thing this, I'm watching old westerns that say they depict what happened. Most of the conflicts were started by lawmen cleaning up their respective towns by decreeing ordinances restricting the wearing of firearms within their cities. The movies depict the town was being overrun by the criminal element, therefore they had to disarm them to achieve a sense of order.
