Are we still good with bringing kids? I may have my wife on board and she can't stand to be away from our 4yr old for more than a day.

BB... Shoot me a PM with a mailing address. I have some land navigation material I'll send you on loan. I couldn't find the mini handout I used to have, but did find a multi-page pamphlet that I will happily loan you till this get together.

OK, thanks!! I'll make sure it gets back to you.

There is a place. Topographic @ 6709 N Classen Blvd. I think the property may be in Coalgate Quad 1:24 but that is not verified. I have an iPad app to download topos and checked it there.

There are a few more dealers listed, but I have used Topographic in the past. You can also buy them online from USGS.

Did I hear someone say "topo map"? The link below uses the Gmap4 enhanced Google map viewer to display a high resolution topo map for a random spot in Pushmataha County.

http://www.mappingsupport.com/p/gmap4.php?ll=34.674723,-95.469646&t=t4&z=15&hillshade=18

If you use Firefox then you can print the map through your browser. File ==> Print preview.

Anyone can make similar Gmap4 links that are zoomed in on any spot. Start by panning and zooming out/in (mouse wheel zooms) until you find your spot. Or try Menu ==> Search. You can search on addresses, many place names and most reasonable ways to write a latitude longitude (WGS84 datum). The button in the very upper right corner changes the map. For high resolution topos select “t4 Topo High”. When the map looks the way you want it to look, then click Menu ==> “Link to this map”. The link that is displayed will reproduce the same map you see on your screen.

Full disclosure time: I am the developer of the Gmap4 browser app that is displaying the map. This project is part of my way to “pay it forward”. Translation: Gmap4 is free for non-commercial use.

Gmap4 runs in most browsers on most devices from smartphones to iPads to desktops. Note that the browser does have to be online. When Gmap4 is running in the browser on a smartphone, it automatically displays phone-friendly buttons.

Gmap4 links can be used in forum posts, emails, websites, blogs and any other place that a link can be used.

The Gmap4 homepage has a FAQ, examples, quick start info (in the Help file) and more to quickly get you up to speed.
