Anybody know the going rate per sqft for deck/pergola construction?

I have one quote from a guy in Norman. His work is phenomenal unfortunately his price is ummm, really high. He quoted me $3200 for a basic deck by my master bedroom (8' x 12') with a small handrail. Thats $33+ a square foot! I was scared to ask for a quote for the pergola I want built. I am pretty handy and could build this myself but I would rather have a true craftsman build it. I think this is really high. Am I off track here?

A bit high, what was the materials? If alot of trex or veranda type decking then ya, I could see it.

Depends on what you want the pergala made of, if your standard PT lumber, you can get by pretty cheap, but if you want something nicer, redwood or cedar, look at a lawnmaster pergala, sold at Home Depot, prices are installed.
