An hour and a half south of you is Love Valley WMA, I’ve seen more pigs there than anywhere else in the state. 20 minutes east of there is cross Timbers. Lots of birds, rabbits, and stickers. 30 minutes south of you is Lexington WMA. If jackrabbits are more of your flavor, black kettle, packsaddle, and sandy sanders are roughly 2.5 hours west. An hour and a half east of you there’s the deep fork, okmulgee and atoka/stringtown wma’s, lots of hogs all over those and lots of other good stuff. I’ve shot a lot of squirrels in those wmas. There’s some real great places to go in Oklahoma, and for me at least, makes it hard to justify paying for land. Sometimes the hunting is harder, sometimes there’s people to run across, but for free, you really can’t beat it.
