Southland shopping center spiffed up and became the present enclosed Prominad Mall just after the first half of Woodland Hills opened up to try to stay competitive. The first section of Woodland hills was built in about 1973-74 can't remember, but I was an electrician on that project. If you did not bring your lunch you had to drive about 3 miles north to the closest burger place to get anything to eat. Who in their right mind would build a shopping center out in the country like this? They were geniuses. Early in the project before the building was closed up we would have to chase the cows out after every rain storm to get back to work.
