If I'd been lucky enough to find a cache of 1960's era weapons, I'd have lost them all in a boat accident before calling the press.
This is pretty neat, especially since it still contained the original items stocked. I can't believe someone hadn't found & cleaned this out before now. Simply amazing.
As far as the guns are concerned, I would imagine the guns were most likely kept close to the home owner. It's easier to carry a few guns & some ammo into your shelter when the time comes than to have to make a trip down there every time you need one topside. I'd be extremely surprised if they found any guns or ammo down there.

OK. I couldn't see the tops of any champagne bottles in that box. Why do I suspect that the builder might have decided this was to be a "man-cave" since there wasn't any need for the bomb shelter purpose?
