I used to live near Gary's mom in the Peoria, IL area.
I remember seeing them at Gallagher Arena in the early 80s. Even had seats on Gary's side of the stage. It's a shame his struggle with alcohol cut his career so short.

Damn. Several great songs came out of REO and Richrath was the writer. Golden Country was my favorite after Riding the Storm Out.
.357Sig, I bet I was at the same concert. I'll never forget it because about half of my senior class was there in the same section. And we didn't know each other was going, it was really cool! Same thing happened at the Eagles in 1980 IIRC. We were just to right of the stage one section up from the floor. Perfect seats!

What a shame. They are one of my favorites, especially their harder stuff. "Back on the Road Again" is awesome.
