I would think so :)
Many people prefer solid black rear sights.
I noticed at least one of those pictures showed night sights. I believe the front sight is not easily removed on the 92 and if the NS are out it's a trip back to Trijicon for replacement tubes.

I've got a 92D Centurion that I got really cheap and Olyeller coated it. The action on that gun is like butter! I've also got an unfired 92FS Centurion that I really would like to shoot :D
I think the 92's have a really nice balance and fit good in the hand.

I wonder if the prior owner knew his sight was backwards?

may not be backwards. some sights I've seen are drilled all the way through and then are touched up with paint on the end to conceal it a little better. something about the changes in temp or pressure and the hole allowing it to expand and contract better.
