You all peppers that camp out in the woods, there is a bumper crop of snakes out. Most good. I cleaned out a 70 year old barn and no sign of vermin, but lots of black rat snakes. So far 23 of them. I took off a dozen of them to other barns. I am going to leave only 3, it’s not that big of barn.

A good snake identifying book would be good for those that camp in the wilds.

I’m seeing quite a few as well, but luckily I haven’t seen or heard a diamondback yet.

Fortunately the handful of venomous snakes we have here in OK are easy to identify. Copperheads and cottonmouths get a dose of lead shot at my place. All non-venomous varieties are left alive

We ran into what I what I thought was an abnormal about of snakes at Kaw lake Memorial Day weekend.

In the wild I enjoy seeing venomous snakes as long as I see them first.
In the wild they get a pass and get to go on living their life.
If I find one in my back yard though it becomes a different story.
