I agree, auto-renewal is for if nothing changes and if both parties want it to remain in force. No contract is forever. And I am guessing without a doubt the tribes don't want this to change. Apparently the state (or those in power IN the state) DOES want it to change. I am not necessarily in favor of increasing the taxes... I am not in favor of taxes in general, and this may or may not be the same thing as claiming 'the rich don't pay their fair share', which is a complete crock of f***ing shite. But what I AM all for is free market and fair play. If it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander. The bottom line is, the tribes want to maintain as much of a monopoly on gaming as they can. I can understand their position. I just don't agree with it. I also think we should relax the liquor laws, should reduce taxes on lots of things. If we increase the economic opportunities, the state as a whole will benefit. I am NOT in favor of maintaining protected status of the gaming industry to only those who can and will grease the right palms to keep their monopoly. And I don't see any reason the tribes (OR plain ol' horse racing) should have a monopoly on it.
