We would always take the drive down to Blanchard to spend the evening with my dad's (large) side of the family. Christmas day was usually spent at home or with my much, much smaller mom's side of the family. Either way I always think of the drive home from out in the country, looking up in the sky to catch a glimpse of Santa. The night sky out in the country is so different with hundreds, if not thousands, of stars shining so bright. I don't think we'll be continuing the tradition due to most of the family now doing their own thing on the 24th. But still, when I think of Christmas Eve I can't help but think of the beautiful nighttime sky filled with thousands of shining stars going past as I look out the car window and try not to fall asleep. Merry Christmas to everyone.
