Perhaps true to an extent but not like now. It's also hamstringing teams ability to recruit. Would Barry Sanders have went to OSU if there was a multi-million dollar deal somewhere else? It's changing the dynamics completely and not for the better.

In retrospect Barry Sanders could have gone anywhere.
My understanding was he wanted OU and Switzer said he had enough little backs.

I dunno about that. Colorado doesn't have an insane amount of NIL money and Alabama does..... look at the direction each respective program is heading right now. There will always be the short-sighted ones. However, one of the best QBs in the nation plays for UNC. South Alabama just beat the tar out of OSU, Wyoming gave Texas fits..... that theory just isn't translating.
