Colt SP1

Saw a Colt SP 1 for sale at a pawn shop,did they come out in a short barrel model.Has full length handguards and barrel only extends about 3 inchs from the end of the handguards.

I'm not aware of a long sight radius 16" sp.The upper would have a forge mark and sometimes a proof stamp on the right front of the carry handle.A Colt barrel would have a proof stamp as well.Is it an A1 or smooth side upper with a pencil barrel?

Gonna have to look at it a little closer.Has a standard type rear stock.Not a heavy barrel,has triangular hand guards and no forward assist.

I'd check the barrel for proof marks

if it has the triangle handguards it's more than likely a std. sporter model with a 20" barrel
