Just before lunch I spent 30 minutes on the phone with one of the Cox 'retention specialists'. Important penalty stuff ------>"Found out that my current 2 year contract with Cox doesn't expire till March 2020 so if I pull the plug on them before then I will get hit with a $240.00 early disconnect fee." The end result of the 1/2 hour conversation was that in order to keep exactly what I have now all I could get off my bill was $17.48 per month which drops the bill down to $257.93 (from $275.41).......the new rate is guaranteed for 12 months with no additional time being added onto the end of my current contract. So even though it's better than $275.41 I'm still not happy with paying $257.93 per month but as it stands now if I tell them to take Cox and shove it before March it will cost me a $240.00 early disconnect fee. The way I see it is that I've now got five months to ask around and do some research and figure out what my best options are other than Cox.
