Saturday was the first day that the new Scout was tested. Weather was perfect for a days shooting.

Noticed right off that the iron sights on this gun are not good. Why would they put such a sight on a good gun?

You can't adjust the front sight without removing the hood, and the rear sight does not have enough adjustment when shooting high.

Does anyone have any suggestions for options on sighting? I looked on CZ-USA and they have a package that runs close to hundred bucks, but for that kind of change, I would rather install a scope.

I did find that the gun had a preference, when it came to ammo, that it liked. Luckily, I had three brands to try out.

you need to be calling the national distributor for CZ.
odds are they will do something about it.

CZ is fanatical about quality control ...
how old is this Scout?

Purchased in late November, 2010. I called CZ-USA and talked about this issue, but I didn't mention anything regarding warranty issues, maybe I should have.

I only asked what options were available as far a iron sight replacement.

It wouldn't be an issue, but I'm wanting my kids to learn how to shoot with iron sights first. I had plans of adding a scope later, however, later isn't after the first time they shoot the gun.

I'd call CZ back and remind them of the earlier phone call with no results.

no it's not normal for CZ Scout sights to not function.
be glad to measure mine and post pic's of my Scout's sights

how far are you trying to align sights to shoot?

How difficult is it to remove the hood, make the adjustments, and then reinstall the hood. Should only have to do it the one time. Maybe I'm not seeing what you're talking about.

Bummer. I thought the Scout had the same irons as the Lux and Trainer which are fantastic. I know I won't be getting a Scout now. :(
