Saw somebody do that with a high powered laser pointer type setup a number of years ago. Zapped a wing right off the mosquito and it couldn't fly anymore.

Heck, they had lasers on C-130's at Hurlburt Field, Florida in the seventies tht brought down airborne objects. I can only imagine what they have now.
