Ever get your hopes up on a build?

so I was looking around and saw the ks47 lower on palmetto and was intrigued about the thought of having an ar that shoots 7.62x39 and can use the "rock and lock" magazines. Well I decided that combined with my odd fatuation with wanting a side charging ar I could knock out both and make a really weird gun. All was fine and dandy until I realized that the ks47 lower will not work a non ks47 upper and they do not make those in side charging (there's also a very finite amount of side charging uppers), oh well there goes the dream of building that obscure rifle maybe someday they will put those parts out.

Does anyone have any stories like this where they got their hopes up on an odd build like this just to have it turn out somewhat impossible?

nah, just get out the ol hammer and files and make it work. j/k
have not done the research, but does bear creel arsenal make a side charging upper that will work?
