The only intelligent haunting I have personally witnesses was not a place but an object. An old wheelchair our business had. The previous owner was an old woman who had died sitting in the chair and apparently was a proper lady who did not approve of cussing. One of our female employees cussed all the time and when she did it in the warehouse the spirit would throw small items at her. One night I was there working on some chairs for charity and hit my thumb with the hammer. I said some colorful things and very clearly heard a woman's voice tell me not to cuss. At other times her old wheelchair would move from where I kept my collection in the warehouse to the office front door, or you would get a whiff of an old flowery perfume.
I have seen other things but that is the only one I am sure was intelligent.
