FYI I just learned that using telescopes, binoculars, etc.

to view the eclipse, even when wearing the special glasses, etc., will still be harmful to your eyes. I'm sure with all the rifle scopes you guys have somebody has thought of using one to look at the eclipse.

Shade 12 or greater welders glass gets the job done. Regular sunglasses doubled or trippled up, not good. Eclipse glasses meeting ISO 12312-2 will work as well. Check them out first just in case the seller lied:

You need to put the protective film over the front of the binos or scope, not just on your eyes looking thru the unprotected scope.
